Lumus Imaging partnered with emd:digital to redesign and rebuild their national website, transforming a minimal, outdated platform into a seamless digital experience that makes it easier for patients and referrers to find, book and connect.

As one of Australia’s largest diagnostic imaging providers, Lumus Imaging needed a site that matched its scale and professionalism while staying warm, human and easy to navigate. The result is a modern, accessible platform that reflects the care and clarity the brand delivers every day.

Objective

The existing Lumus Imaging website had been built as a temporary solution, functional but limited. It lacked flexibility, accessibility and the ability to showcase more than 150 imaging locations across Australia in a meaningful way.

Patients struggled to find the right site or service. Referrers faced unclear pathways. The overall experience did not reflect the brand’s credibility or its “Empathetic Expert” tone of voice.

The core challenge was to create an intuitive digital experience that connects users quickly to what matters most: locations and bookings, while improving usability, accessibility and performance.

The Solution

emd:digital reimagined the Lumus Imaging website from the ground up, designing and developing a clean, modern interface built around clarity, empathy and speed.

The centrepiece of the build was a custom map and search system, created to help users easily locate imaging centres by suburb, service or operating hours. The functionality integrates directly with Lumus’ internal location database, ensuring results are accurate and automatically updated.

We simplified the site structure, refined the visual hierarchy and streamlined content so patient pathways were clear and easy to follow. The foundation is flexible and ready for future features including online bookings and multilingual accessibility.
